Brandon Devlin - Barrie Colts
6'1" 190 LBS
D.O.B. April 27, 1994
Devlin was a 3rd round pick, 55th overall of the Colts in the 2010 OHL Priority Draft. Drafted out of Junior A Dixie Beehives, Devlin played just 4 games for them as a call up after playing 60 games for the Brampton Battalion Minor Midget AAA, where he recorded 18 goals and 40 assists in 60 games in his draft year. In his rookie season for the Colts, he played in 64 games scoring 3 times and adding 19 assists with 78 penalty minutes.
Devlin already has good size by OHL standards and doesn't shy away from the physical game. His strength is in his own zone. He is rarely out of position, plays with an active stick and doesn't put himself out of the play while looking to make a big hit.
Devlin does have some offensive ability despite being known more as a shut down player. He is adept at moving the puck with a good first pass. He sees the ice very well. He gets some opportunities to quarterback the power play for the Colts. He has a good shot from the point that usually hits his target.
With 4 fights on his resume during his rookie season, Devlin is also not afraid to drop the gloves. With his added bulk this season, he should also fare better.
