Luke Cairns

Luke Cairns - Erie Otters

5'8" - 155 LBS
D.O.B. May 29, 1994

The 2011-12 season didn't start off very well for the Erie Otters, having lost the first 4 games of their young season. Enter game 5 and Luke Cairns who was playing just his second game of the season. Cairns scored twice, including the game winner and added 3 assists to help Erie with their first victory.

The third round pick, 50th overall in the 2010 priority draft, is in his second season with the Otters. During his rookie season, Cairns played in 60 games scoring 6 times and adding 12 assists.

There's no questioning what Cairns lacks most is size. But he plays with the determination of a power forward. he's not afraid to go to the net. He is a good skater who uses it to his advantage. he possesses good vision and very good hockey sense. He reads plays developing very well and is a very good passer who can almost always find the seams. His shot is good enough that he will score some goals. In fact, offense shouldn't be a problem for Cairns.
