A day after adding Tyler Brown and Ryan Spooner through trades, the Sarnia Sting were back at it today filling a soft spot on their squad. Although Friday wasn't as busy as Thursday in the lead up to Tuesday's trade deadline, there were a couple of trades. The following trades were filed with the league Friday :
Mississauga St Mikes Majors send J. P. Anderson to Sarnia Sting for Brandon Maxwell, Guelph's 2nd round pick in 2012, Niagara's 2nd round pick in 2013, Peterborough's 2nd round pick in 2014, a 5th round pick in 2014 and a 5th round pick in 2015.
Saginaw Spirit send John McFarland to Ottawa 67's for David Perklin and a 4th round pick in 2014.
The trades the Sting made in the two days paid immediate dividends in their first game. J. P. Anderson stopped 30 shots to shutout the Erie Otters 4-0. Ryan Spooner scored twice, his 99th and 100th career OHL goals, and added an assist while Tyler Brown assisted on the game winning goal.
Trades can still be filed with the league over the weekend leading up to trade deadline and we'll be here to look at the days deals.
