Connor Brown - Erie Otters
5'11" - 170 LBS
D.O.B. January 14, 1994
Connor Brown played his 2009 - 2010 season for the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midgets of the GTHL where he posted 25 goals and 44 assists in 80 games. He was then chosen by the Erie Otters in the 13th round, 251st overall, in the 2010 OHL Priority Draft.
Brown opted to play Junior A the following season with the St. Michael's Buzzers of the OJHL. He scored 17 goals and added 23 assists in 52 games. In September 2011, he committed to play for the Otters and is now in his rookie season. Through 41 games with Erie, he's posted 14 goals, 15 assists and 29 points. Brown was named OHL Rookie of the month for December and trails only Max Domi of the London Knights and Radek Faksa of the Kitchener Rangers in rookie scoring.
Brown was ranked 85th among North American skaters in the NHL Central Scouting's mid term rankings released just last week. That puts him 59th among CHL players (31st among OHL Players) and left on the outside looking in for the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Brown doesn't possess great size but it doesn't prevent him from going to the dirty areas. He's an intelligent player who will beat defenders using his smarts rather than strength, which is his greatest asset. He has good vision which helps him find open teammates. Along with his IQ, he uses that to get himself into open areas. He can play both as a set up man and a goal scorer.
