Patrik Machac - Brampton Battalion
5'9" - 165 LBS
D.O.B. April 23, 1994
The undersized Machac is an offensive force who has plenty of experience internationally and even going up against players older than he is.
During the 2009-10 season Machac, a Czech Republic native, played in 6 games for HC Kladno U16 team where he notched 5 goals and added 4 assists. From there he moved up to HC Kladno's U18 team where in 42 games he scored 18 goals and added 19 assists. He even got in 4 games with HC Kladno's U20 squad going pointless in those contests.
During that 2009-10 season, Machac played in 8 international contests for the Czech Republic in Under 16 games and scored 3 goals while contributing 2 assists in those 8 games.
During the 2010-11 season, Machac played in 36 contests for HC Kladno in the Under 18 league. In those 36 games Machac potted 23 goals and 30 assists. He once again appeared in 2 games for HC Kladno in the under 20 league, again going pointless.
Machac played in 5 games for the Czech Republic in the WHC U17 with 1 goal and 4 assists. Overall internationally last season for the Czech's, he played in 22 under 17 contests internationally and scored 6 times while adding 9 assists.
Although undersized, Machac isn't afraid to go to the dirty areas. He's a smooth skater with good speed and agility. He has excellent vision and is a good play maker with excellent puck possession skills.
Following the Import Draft, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Stan Butler said. “He’s a pretty skilled kid, We’re trying to upgrade our goal-scoring.”
When asked if Machac would join the Battalion for the 2011-12 season, Butler said, “I don’t foresee any problems, We wouldn’t have drafted him if we didn’t think he’d be here.”
Machac is also among the NHL's top players to watch list from the Czech Republic.
